A Perfect Order of Mega Evolution Pokémon!

The Western countries catch up with the Mega Evolution Japanese sets by releasing Perfect Order, which hit the shelves on March 27, 2026. This expansion for the Pokémon Trading Card Game is, in fact, almost entirely the English-language adaptation of last January's Japanese release called Nihil Zero (Munikisu Zero, sometimes also translated as Nullifying Zero), the third entry in the MEGA series – at least if we count the twin sets Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia as a single entity. It is primarily based on the Nintendo Switch 2025 video game Pokémon Legends: Z-A. This marks the first full set to have that digital game as its main thematic focus, even if cards depicting the video game's Pokémon and characters had already appeared in other sets.

Among the small differences between Perfect Order and Nihil Zero is the addition of eight Trainer cards with updated regulation marks, all of them old classics such as Judge, Poké Ball and Pokémon Catcher. These additional cards bring the set's total size to 124 cards, still making it the smaller English-language set since 2017's Crimson Invasion. On the other hand, the Illustration Rare version of Tyrunt, which was included in Nihil Zero, is absent from Perfect Order.

Zero and Null

In the same way as Nihil Zero, Perfect Order also sees Mega Zygarde ex taking the role of the set's central Pokémon. There are four versions of this Fighting-type Basic Pokémon, including the coveted mega hyper rare with the signature, gold-etched treatment, the only one in the entire set. Mega Zygarde ex comes with a powerful attack that's potentially capable of obliterating the opponent's entire team of Pokémon, provided we're lucky enough with the coin flips. The name of the attack is appropriately "Nullifying Zero", as it can nullify or else reduce to zero the opposing team. It's also, as has become usual with the MEGA series, the alternative English name of the original Japanese set in which Mega Zygarde ex made its debut. On top of that, with its 310 HP, Mega Zygarde ex currently holds the record for the highest health of any tournament-legal Basic Pokémon.

Other Mega Evolution Pokémon that have a special illustration rare version in Perfect Order include Mega Starmie ex and Mega Clefable ex. Meowth ex is also given the special illustration treatment.
